Revamped BMW R18 Models Have Arrived
The Big Boxer Heritage series gets a revised look with new tech, new paint and new optional extras.

BMW has just unveiled its refreshed R18 line up, and it’s everything motorcycle enthusiasts have been waiting for. These bikes pay homage to BMW’s heritage while packing a punch with cutting-edge engineering.
At the heart of the BMW R18 is its legendary 1,802cc air-cooled Big Boxer engine. The maximum torque of the 91hp 1,802cc Big Boxer has been increased by 5Nm to 163Nm at 3,000rpm. This powerful new model delivers smooth, robust power and an unmistakable rumble that harks back to BMW’s golden era.
The design of the new R18 model masterfully balances nods to classic with innovation. With a long, lean silhouette, striking details, and a bold, retro aesthetic, these motorcycles stand out from the crowd. Replacing the 16-inch rear wheel with a whopping 18-inch spoked design, this new wheel ramps up the authentic cruiser character of the R18. A new design of the spring and damping rates of the spring strut compliments this new wheel set up for a comfortable ride. The previous 19-inch/16-inch set up is still available, as an option, if that’s your preference.
A raw fork design is now the norm, without the previous fork sleeves, and the body components now appear as if they are one piece, thanks to a new sculpted design. This new seat design adds an extra 10mm of foam for comfort while riding and can be easily removed thanks to a concealed push button. A newly added USB charging socket means you’ll never be without charge, wherever the adventure. A Blacked Out equipment version of the R18 features black elements throughout.
BMW didn’t stop at looks and power. The new R18 models also come equipped with modern electronics like cornering ABS and dynamic traction control, ensuring your ride is not only thrilling but exceptionally safe. The R18 Classic adds a 19-inch spoked front wheel with mudguard and a mudguard extension on the now lowered front fender. Fork sleeves are still given for that classic impression. New side covers, circular cross-sectioned silencers and a USB-C port update the R18 Classic without taking away that nostalgic touring bike look. A Blacked Out equipment version is also available for the R18 Classic.

The R18 Roctane, R18B and R18 Transcontinental have all undergone technical revision so the entire BMW R18 family are now in line with the EU 5+ standard.

- Comfort package R18B: Hill Start Control, RDC, central locking, lockable fuel cap and heated seat.
