Fitted with a 125cc 2V air-cooled single-cylinder engine, the Honda ST125 DAX is smooth and surprisingly quiet. The four-speed gearbox features a centrifugal clutch with a simple toe-heel lever.
Comfortable and accommodating
The Honda ST125 DAX offers comfort for both rider and pillion passenger, with a deeply padded seat and chrome grab rail behind the seat. The covered drive chain also provides added safety when wearing loose clothes.
Enhanced control
Unlike the DAXs of yore, the ST125 features upside-down forks for the brakes and twin shock absorbers. These bring you increased confidence when braking, making every stop smooth.
Retro style
With its distinctive shape, the Honda ST125 DAX stands out on any road. Elements of style like chunky tyres, the T-shaped frame and high swooping bars create a quirky yet timeless feel.

A scooter with character
Weaving around towns since 1969, the DAX has long been a popular scooter choice. The name comes from its resemblance to a Dachshund (or sausage dog) with its small wheels and long body. Honoured in an image on the model plate of the bike.

Bringing forth Honda's expertise in crafting SOCH singles, the DAX125 is a sure thing when it comes to reliability. The stomp transmission has been refined over the decades to ensure higher quality, while the paint finish on the bodywork is sure to please. It's also lightweight and easy to ride.
Specification and equipment
A fairly simple scooter, the Honda ST125 DAX shows less is more in the kit area. Features include a neat digital speedometer and fuel gauge, LED lights, and cast aluminium wheels. The front disc brake also features ABS for improved safety. Luggage racks and other accessories are available as an option.
Riding and owning
With OTR prices starting from £3,800 the ST125 DAX is reasonably affordable. The modest-sounding 125cc engine is efficient, with up to 90mpg allowing you to economise with every ride. While a 3.8-litre tank may be small, you'll still be able to cover plenty of ground with up to 150 miles max in between stops.
